
Belgium defeated Algeria 2-1 in 2014 FIFA World Cup Group H showdown played on Tuesday at Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte.
Belgium overturned Algeria's 1-0 first half lead in the second half thanks to goals by Marouane Fellaini and Dries Mertens.
Both teams started the match in a balanced way. Belgium saw a shock goal in their nets when Sofiane Feghouli scored from the penalty spot after being fouled by Jan Vertonghen.
In the second half, Belgium fought back with their midfielder Marouane Fellaini scoring the equaliser with a header in the 70th minute.
Having stirred up by Fellaini's equaliser, Belgium made a comeback in the 80th minute when winger Dries Mertens found the net after getting assisted by Eden Hazard, 2-1.
