Turkish Football Federation head Nihat Ozdemir steps down
He had headed Turkish Football Federation since June 2019

ISTANBUL
Turkish football chief Nihat Ozdemir on Monday stepped down from the post.
Ozdemir had over a year left in his tenure and gave no reason for his resignation.
The Turkish Football Federation said in a statement that Servet Yardimci, the group’s vice president, would serve as the acting head until a replacement is chosen.
In 2019, Ozdemir, the only candidate for the post, was elected the federation's 42nd president with 179 out of 183 votes.
Last month Turkiye failed to book a spot at this year's World Cup finals after losing to Portugal 3-1.
