ISTANBUL (AA) – 2022 World Cup may be hosted in several Middle East countries besides Qatar, said Joseph Sepp Blatter, the FIFA president.
Blatter emphasized that countries such as Iran and United Arab Emirates are willing to host some matches.
He said that FIFA will evaluate its options step by step on voluntary countries, adding that such big organizations were also made in cooperation with many countries before.
The FIFA president noted that the current top issue for World Cup is to decide whether some matches can be played in winter.
