Russian gymnasts stun US gymnastic team in Olympic qualifying round

ANKARA
The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) women's gymnastics team on Sunday stunned the US in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games' qualifying stage.
The ROC team scored 171.629 points to beat the US, who racked up 170.562 in total.
Four-time Olympic champion Simone Biles, 24, the reigning Olympic winner, led the US team, earning a total score of 57.731 in the all-around standings.
The ROC was led by Angelina Melnikova, an Olympic silver medalist.
The 21-year-old racked up 57.132 points in Sunday's all-around standings.
China was third at 166.863.
Olympic medal events for women's Artistic Gymnastics will start on Tuesday.
Russian athletes are competing under the ROC name in Tokyo due to doping sanctions from the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
