ANKARA

Italian football club Roma on Friday signed Ajax Amsterdam winger Justin Kluivert.

Roma announced their new signing on their website as the Dutch footballer inked five-year contract running out on June 30, 2023.

The Italian club paid an initial €17.25 million ($20.1 million) transfer fee to Ajax to complete his move.

"I’m feeling great, I’m at an unbelievable club and I can’t wait to start," said Kluivert, who is the son of former Barcelona and Ajax striker Patrick.

"I think that Justin is already one of the most exciting young players in European football," remarked Monchi, the Roma's sporting director.

During 2017-2018 season 19-year-old Kluivert scored 11 goals for Ajax in 36 club appearances.
