Mexico was eliminated from the FIFA 2022 World Cup despite a 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia in Group C on Wednesday.

Despite several efforts from both sides, neither national team was able to produce a goal in the first half at Lusail Stadium.

Mexico broke the deadlock, however, when Henry Martin made a close-range finish in the 48th minute.

After five minutes, Luis Chavez scored a spectacular long-range free-kick to beat goalkeeper Mohammed Alowais.

Hirving Lozano made the score 3-0, but it was disallowed for a tight offside call in the 56th minute.
