German tennis player Florian Mayer defeated British Andy Murray, who is one of the favourites, in the second round of the ExxonMobil Open 2014 held in the capital city of Qatar, Doha on Wednesday.
While Murray won the first set 6-3, Mayer managed to make a comeback by dominating the two sets, especially the third one against his British opponent Murray. With this result Florian Mayer qualifies for the next round.
Being in the fourth rank in ATP's rankings table, Andy Murray has been eliminated in the second round of the tournament by losing against German opponent Florian Mayer who is at the 40th position in the standings.
Tournament in Doha, in which the world's most famous tennis players such as Rafael Nadal, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer, Richard Gasquet and Andy Murray participated, has started on December 30, 2013 and continues until January 4, 2014.
