ANKARA
Los Angeles Galaxy, the U.S. Major League Soccer defending champions, said Wednesday that Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard will join the club this summer.
"Steven Gerrard will join us in July, and of course, we will make an appropriate plan until that date," manager Bruce Arena told the Los Angeles Times. "He is a player of good quality."
"We have a club now with a proven history of success," Arena added. "All of those things go hand-in-hand with making LA Galaxy a very attractive team for players such as Steven Gerrard."
Gerrard, 34, was captain of both Liverpool and the English national team. He recently announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, where he played for 17 years.
