Longtime Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy on Saturday extended his contract with the English Premier League club for two seasons.

"Leicester City Football Club is delighted to confirm that Jamie Vardy has agreed a contract extension with the Foxes to June 2024," the club said in a statement.

The 35-year-old joined the Foxes from lower division club Fleetwood Town in 2012, and celebrated his 10 years at Leicester City in May.

"I've been here long enough now that I feel like part of the furniture," Vardy told the club's TV channel.

"To carry on being involved with that, I was over the moon. Now it’s all about this season and finishing as high as we can. My legs are still feeling great so I'll carry that on helping the Club as much as I can, whether that’s scoring or assisting, that’s what I’m here to do," he added.

Vardy, who is a former England forward, won the 2016 Premier League, a historic title for Leicester City that surprised the football community across the globe.

During his 10-year stint at the Foxes, he secured an English FA Cup, and a Community Shield.

Vardy scored 164 goals in 387 matches for Leicester City to be the club's third-highest goal scorer of all time.
