Galatasaray smash Torku Konyaspor 5-0

ANKARA

Galatasaray smashed Torku Konyaspor 5-0 in a Turkish Spor Toto Super League match in Konya Saturday night.

"Lions" took the victory in the Week-13 game at Konya Metropolitan Torku Arena thanks to the goals of Turkish strikers, Umut Bulut and Burak Yilmaz (2), and Turkish midfielders Emre Colak and Hamit Altintop.

The 5-0 triumph against Torku Konyaspor is the biggest win for Galatasaray this season. They also came out on top of the league by raising their points to 28 in the table.

Meanwhile, archrivals Fenerbahce have vanquished Sivasspor 4-1 at their home ground Friday night. Scorers for Fenerbahce were Turkish center-back Bekir Irtegun, Senegalese forward Moussa Sow (2) and Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt.

Sivasspor's single goal was scored by Moroccan winger Aatif Chahechouhe. Fenerbahce is at second place in the league table, just one point behind leaders Galatasaray.

Other title contenders, Besiktas will play away to Gaziantepspor at 7 p.m. local time (1700GMT) Sunday in Gaziantep.
