ANKARA
Turkey are to host Bulgaria in a friendly football match on June 8 in Istanbul, the Turkish Football Federation said in a statement on Saturday.
The game, at Kasimpasa Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium, will be four days before Turkey’s Euro 2016 Group A qualifier against Kazakhstan in Almaty.
It has been three years since the neighbors played each other, when Turkey won 2-0 in a friendly in Austria. Previous fixtures have resulted in 10 wins for Bulgaria, six for Turkey and six draws.
Turkey currently lie fourth in their Euro 2016 qualifying group and seem likely to struggle to qualify for the championships in France. Bulgaria are in a similar position in Group H.
