French football powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was upset over Sunday’s injuries of team regulars, French star Kylian Mbappe and Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani.

The PSG said on its website that Mbappe and Cavani underwent medical tests on Monday.

"Kylian Mbappe suffered an injury to his left hamstring. Tests this morning have confirmed the player will be sidelined for four weeks depending on the evolution of the injury," the club said.

"Edinson Cavani, who suffered an injury to his right hip, underwent an MRI scan on Monday. The duration of his rehabilitation will be established over the coming days but he is unlikely to return in less than three weeks," it added.

Mbappe and Cavani sustained injuries during Sunday’s league match against Toulouse that the PSG won 4-0.

The duo will miss the upcoming league match against Metz on Aug. 30.

Cavani, 32, is a PSG veteran playing for the Parisian club since July 2013. The Uruguayan international scored 195 goals in 283 appearances for the PSG.

Mbappe, 20, joined the PSG in the 2017 summer. The 20-year-old forward tallied 62 goals in 91 matches. In addition, Mbappe helped France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
