ANKARA
Galatasaray toppled Caykur Rizespor 2-0 in the week 17 game at Turk Telekom Arena in Istanbul on Sunday.
Home team Galarasaray were off to a flyer in the 7th minute. 'Lions' central midfielder Selcuk Inan trapped the ball in the box and passed it to his teammate Wesley Sneijder. Dutch playmaker found the net by means of a ground shot, 1-0.
Right before the end of the first half in 44’, Galatasaraydoubled the margin. Portuguese wunderkind Bruma chipped the ball over Caykur Rizespor goalkeeper Serkan Kirintili: 2-0. Sneijder made the assist.
In the 81st minute Galatasaray's Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz was obliged to get subbed-out since his injury acted up.
Two minutes to go, referee brandished Selcuk Inan a yellow card after penalizing Ludovic Obraniak. Selcuk will miss the next week's match against Bursaspor.
Raising their points to 38, Galatasaray climbed to runners-up position.
Spor Toto Super League's week 17 will end on Monday, Besiktas will play away to Genclerbirligi in Ankara; the match will start at 20:00 local time (1800 GMT).
