LONDON

 English Premier League leaders Chelsea have acquired Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado, the London club announced in a statement Monday night.

Chelsea, which sold their German winger Andre Schurrle to German side Wolfsburg, signed the 26-year-old to a four-and-a-half-year deal.

“It is really going to be brilliant to work with one of the best coaches anywhere in the world,” said the now former player from Fiorentina, Italy, referring to Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.

The Colombian international has scored five goals in 37 appearances for his country’s squad.
