ISTANBUL
Benfica on Friday confirmed the signing of Jan Vertonghen on a free transfer.
The Belgian defender, 33, inked a three-year contract with the Portuguese club.
Vertonghen left Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 2019-2020 season after he played 315 games for the Premier League side during his eight-year spell.
