Fenerbahce’s board member tests positive for COVID-19

ISTANBUL 

Burak Kizilhan, a board member of Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce, on Friday revealed he had contracted the coronavirus.

Kizilhan said he was the infected board member whose name was not disclosed.

"So far, 395 athletes, managers and staff have been tested. 135 more tests will be done next week [...] Since March 20, a total of 11 people tested positive in our club. Although my PCR test result was negative, COVID- 19 traces were found in my lungs. I have completed one week of quarantine. I'm fine,” he said.

The death toll from the pandemic has increased to 4,007 in Turkey as of Thursday, as the country has so far recorded over 144,000 cases.
