Group H leaders, Belgium upset Russia 1-0 in the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a late winning goal scored by Divock Origi at Maracana, Rio De Janeiro, on Sunday.
The victory won Belgium, known as "Les Diables Rouges" (Red Devils) a ticket to the Round 16 in the World Cup before their third game against Korea Republic on June 26.
After a goalless draw in the first half, both teams tried to turn their luck around by exploiting as many chances as possible in the second half.
Surprisingly, Russia dominated the game by working the ball into Belgium's box while Belgium tried to hit Russia with their winger Dries Mertens and Eden Hazard. Through the final whistle of the game, Belgium's free kick, taken by Kevin Mirallas, hit the post.
In the 88th minute, Belgium finally broke the deadlock when their 19-year-old forward Divock Origi scored the winning goal of the clash after getting assisted by teammate Hazard, 1-0. This crucial goal clinched the victory for the group leaders who have gained 6 points in two matches.
