Barcelona's Nelson Semedo moves to Wolverhampton
Portuguese defender signs 3-year deal with English Premier League club with option to extend it to 2025
English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Nelson Semedo.
"I’m very excited to be here. It’s a very good team. To play in the Premier League is a dream from me too. So, I’m very excited to begin, to meet my teammates and start training," Semedo. 26, said on the Wolves' website.
"They can expect a modern right-back, who likes to attack. I can bring the team pace, speed. I like to go forward and come back. They can expect a lot of work and a lot of ambition," he added.
Semedo’s contract will keep him at Molineux until June 2023, with an option to extend it to June 2025, the club said in a statement.
Barcelona said on its website that the English side would pay $35 million, plus $11 million more in variables to the Spanish club.
