Australia to face South Korea in AFC Cup final

ANKARA

Australia beat the United Arab Emirates 2-0 Tuesday in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup semi-final to advance to the final stage for the second year in a row.

Asian Cup host nation Australia met the UAE in the semi-final of the tournament held by the Asian Football Confederation. 

Australia scored the opening goal of the match through Trent Sainsbury in the third minute. 

Eleven minutes later they made the score 2-0 when Jason Davidson found the net.

Australia was the runner-up of the previous Asian Cup in 2011 when they lost to Japan 1-0 in the final.

Australia will meet South Korea in the tournament's final match on Jan. 31 at the Stadium Australia in Sydney.  

The Asian Cup's third place playoff between Iraq and the UAE will be played on Jan. 30 at Newcastle Stadium.
