Attack on central road in Shevchenkivskyi district leaves civilian vehicles in flames, says Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head
ISTANBUL
At least two people were killed and eight others injured when a Russian guided aerial bomb struck a central road in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, Ukraine, local officials said on Friday.
"One man died on the spot, another died in the ambulance," Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said in a statement on Telegram.
The strike targeted one of the city's main highways, causing several civilian cars to catch fire and shattering windows in nearby apartment buildings and private homes, he said.
Synegubov emphasized that there were no military facilities in the area, noting that emergency units and law enforcement are currently examining the damaged civilian structures.
Russia has not yet responded to the reports regarding the strike in Kharkiv, and independent verification is difficult.
