SANAA
An army officer on Monday hurled a hand grenade at the home of a Yemeni lawmaker in capital Sanaa, a security source has told Anadolu Agency.
According to the source, the officer attacked lawmaker Abdel Wali al-Jabir's personal residence in Yemen's central Taizz province.
No casualties were reported in the wake of the attack, which reportedly damaged al-Jabir's car.
The source attributed the attack to "personal differences" between the officer and the lawmaker.
Yemen has been shaken by violence and unprecedented political turmoil since the ouster of long-serving president Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2012.
According to official statistics, there are some 60 million firearms in Yemen, the total population of which stands at 25.4 million.
