All forces threatening the Russian military presence in Syria must be destroyed, President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
Putin's comments came during a meeting with Russian Defense Ministry officials.
Noting the increased security measures taken to protect the Russian military in Syria, Putin called for an "extremely strong" response against any threats.
Putin also said that the use of the newest weaponry allowed them to inflict "serious damage" to Daesh in Syria, and underlined the importance of increasing cooperation with all countries interested in fighting against terrorism.
The Russian military should coordinate its actions with Israel and the U.S.-led coalition against Daesh, he said.
Russia began its air campaign in Syria on Sept. 30.
