Regime attacks kill 8 civilians in Syria's Idlib, Hama
Idlib falls within network of de-escalation zones in which acts of aggression are expressly forbidden

IDLIB, Syria
At least eight civilians were killed and two injured by Syrian regime attacks in the northwestern Idlib and Hama provinces on Wednesday.
“Seven civilians were killed by a missile attack on vehicles in Hama's Mansura village. Another civilian was killed by airstrikes in the Jisr al-Shughur district in Idlib," Ahmed Newrouz, a member of the White Helmets civil-defense agency, told Anadolu Agency.
Located close to the Turkish border, Idlib falls within a network of de-escalation zones in which acts of aggression are expressly forbidden.
Syria has only just begun to emerge from a devastating conflict that began in 2011 when the Assad regime cracked down on demonstrators with unexpected ferocity.
According to UN estimates, hundreds of thousands of people have been killed in the conflict.
