Kosovo's justice minister on Monday visited the Justice Academy of Turkey in the capital Ankara.

Albulena Haxhiu was told about the academy's activities, the training of judges and prosecutors, as well as pre-vocational and in-service training, expressing hope to cooperate with the academy in the future, the Turkish Justice Ministry said in a statement.

Haxhiu said that Turkey and Kosovo have a close relationship and that visits between the institutions of the two nations would strengthen judicial cooperation.

Noting that Kosovo has a similar academy, she said: "We plan to improve our system by benefitting from your experience ... It will be an honor to work with the Turkish Justice Academy."

Muhittin Ozdemir, head of the academy, said the academy has ties with 72 countries, including European, African, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian countries, to create a common culture of justice and share information.
