Israeli President Peres meets imams in Paris

PARIS

Israeli President Shimon Peres came together with Muslim Union representatives who operate nearby Paris within the framework of inter-religious peace meetings in Paris.
The attack which resulted in three deaths including one child made by Mohammed Merah to the Jewish School in Toulouse province of France was brought to the agenda at the meeting.
"Toulouse is a turning point as death showed its terrible face there" said President Peres.
"March 11 was a bad time when horrific crimes were committed. Muslims had been killed before Jews. Our battle is against every sort of violence and fundamentalism," said Hassen Chalghoumi, the imam of Drancy Mosque in Paris.
Chalghoumi underlined France came first in Europe with a population of 5 million Muslims.
"Human life is much more sacred than Mecca. We have not received any conflict news between the Muslims and the Jews in France. We need to export this peace to other places" Chalghoumi added.
