CAIRO
Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby has said that they were pleased with Syrian Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Walid al-Mualem's statement saying, "we are ready for dialogue".
Evaluating the statement of al-Mualem in regards to negotiating "Even with those who have weapons in their hands," Elaraby said, "We are very pleased with this statement of al-Mualem and we hope the dialogue would be initiated very soon to find a political solution for the Syria crisis."
Walid al-Mualem had announced that the Damascus government was ready to hold talks with the opposition inclusive of the armed groups during his visit to his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
