CAIRO (AA) - Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour will meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday, an Egyptian diplomatic source said.
Talks will tackle a number of issues, topped by Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations, bilateral relations and inter-Palestinian reconciliation, the source said.
The visit, the source says, comes to reaffirm the strength of relations between the two sides.
Tension has marred relations between rival Palestinian groups Fatah - from which Abbas hails - and Hamas, particularly since the July 3 military ouster of elected Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.
Since the ouster of Morsi, a leader of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, relations between Hamas – an ideological offshoot of the Brotherhood – and Egypt's new military-backed rulers have become tense.
Palestinians and Israel resumed their direct peace talks in July after a three-year hiatus.
