ALGERIA
Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal announced that they have opened their airspace to French planes during France's Mali intervention.
Sellal also announced that they would not provide military support to France in their Mali intervention.
Nine opposition parties in Algeria had accused the Algerian government for partnering with the French in the Mali intervention and said the attack on the gas plant was a retaliation to the Algerian government by the group called "Al-Muvakkiun Bid-dem Brigade" (or Those Who Signed in Blood).
Militants who attacked the gas plant are operated under instructions from Mokhtar Belmokhtar, a former AQIM operative in the Sahara, who reportedly had left the Al Qaeda branch to create his own group.
