RAMALLAH
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held a meeting with his staff to negotiate US Secretary of State John Kerry's proposal for resumption of Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.
Abbas was reported to discuss the suspension of Israel's building Jewish settlement units in West Bank and East Jerusalem for a 3-month period to restart Palestinian-Israeli peace talks and release political detainees.
Meanwhile, Hamas and Islamic Jihad movement in Palestine warned Palestinian government. Hamas spokesperson Ebu Zuheyr told Anadolu Agency that Hamas strictly opposed to Palestine's negotiation with occupant zionists, adding "We define negotiations as a deviation from national attitude and Israel is the only party which will benefit under these circumstances."
Zuheyr also said, "Israel uses negotiations as a cover to conceal the offenses of building settlement units and judaizing Palestinian regions."
US Secretary of State John Kerry met Abbas in the capital Amman of Jordan and said the US was committed to the application of the proposals to resume peace negotiations.
