MUSCAT, Oman
At least six people were killed by a tropical cyclone that hit Oman, according to reports Saturday.
The cyclone, which hit Thursday and was felt across the country, is expected to be felt through next Wednesday, security official Munir bin Mohammed Al Sinan told the official Oman News Agency (ONA).
The country's Civil Aviation Authority also warned the public to stay away from dangerous places, as well as water collection areas and valleys.
Last October, at least 12 people died when Cyclone Shaheen hit the sultanate in the southeastern Arabian Peninsula.
