Terror attack kill 2 civilians, wounds 12 in NE Syria
YPG/PKK terrorists detonate bomb-laden car in the town of Tal Halaf in Ras al-ayn, says Turkish Defense Ministry
The PKK/YPG terror group killed at least two civilians, including a child, and wounded 12 others in a car bomb attack in northern Syria, Turkey's Ministry of National Defense said on Thursday.
"In the Peace Spring region, YPG/PKK terrorists detonated a bomb-laden car in the town of Tal Halaf in Ras al-ayn and killed two civilians including a child," the ministry said on Twitter.
It added that two wounded civilians were referred to the Ceylanpinar State Hospital in Turkey's southeastern Sanliurfa Province.
Ras al-Ayn was liberated from YPG/PKK terrorists last October as part of Turkey's Operation Peace Spring, launched to secure Turkey's borders by eliminating the terror group from northern Syria east of the Euphrates River, aid in the safe return of Syrian refugees, and ensure Syria's territorial integrity.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants. The YPG is the PKK's Syrian offshoot.Anadolu Agency website contains only a portion of the news stories offered to subscribers in the AA News Broadcasting System (HAS), and in summarized form.
