IDLIB, Syria

A woman was killed and a child injured Wednesday in an artillery shelling by Syrian regime forces in the northwestern Idlib province, according to a medical source.

The attack targeted a medical center in Marian village in Idlib’s southern countryside by regime forces and Iran-backed terrorist groups stationed in the city of Kafr Nabl, local sources said.

The attack has forced the medical center out of service, the sources added.

On Tuesday, four civilians were killed in Idlib in artillery shelling by Syrian regime forces.

Idlib falls within a de-escalation zone forged under an agreement between Turkey and Russia. The area has been the subject of multiple cease-fire understandings, which have frequently been violated by the Syrian regime and its allies.
