A military airbase in Syria’s central Hama province was rocked by a series of explosions on Friday, according to Syrian regime media.
No further details have yet been provided, but activists shared pictures on social-media platforms showing smoke billowing from the airport.
Some online activists suggested that the blasts might have been caused by Israeli airstrikes.
Local sources told Anadolu Agency that the airport has been linked in the past to Iran-backed militia groups.
