At least four people were killed and two were injured by a rocket attack that targeted a house in the Jadriya area of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, a security source said Tuesday.

The death toll is likely to rise, the source told Iraq's Shafaq News, adding preliminary information indicates the house was hosting members of Iraqi armed factions.

The attack came as hostilities in the region have escalated since Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, killing over 1,300 people so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while also disrupting global markets and aviation.
