Qatar on Friday condemned an Iranian attack that targeted buildings in several areas of Bahrain housing personnel from the Qatari Amiri Naval Forces.

Doha "considers this a blatant act of aggression, a gross violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty, and a direct threat to its security, stability, and regional security," a Qatari Foreign Ministry statement said.

Expressing Doha's "full solidarity" with Bahrain, the ministry said the Qatari personnel present in the targeted buildings are safe, with no injuries reported.

The Qatari Embassy in Bahrain "has taken necessary measures to monitor their situation and ensure their safety," in coordination with the relevant Bahraini authorities, it said, expressing Doha's appreciation for Manama's "cooperation and coordination" on the issue.

"Qatar reiterates its condemnation of all acts that threaten the security of regional states and the safety of their facilities and calls for an end to escalation, adherence to international law and the UN Charter, in order to preserve regional security and stability and protect the people from the dangers of further tension," the ministry said.

The ongoing Israeli-US offensive on Iran has reportedly killed more than 1,000 people since Saturday, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials, while Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Gulf countries which are home to US assets.
