Palestinian president assigns Mohammad Mustafa to form new government
Mustafa is currently chairman of Palestine Investment Fund
RAMALLAH, Palestine
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday appointed Mohammad Mustafa as the new prime minister and asked him to form a new government.
The announcement was made in a presidential decree.
Mustafa will replace Mohammad Shtayyeh who resigned in February in the light of the developments related to the Israeli war on Gaza.
According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, Mustafa is currently the chairman of the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF), a senior economic advisor to Abbas and a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization's Executive Committee.
