Jordan intercepts 79 of 85 missiles, drones launched from Iran over past week
Injured people were transferred to hospitals
AMMAN
The Jordan Armed Forces on Saturday said that air defenses intercepted 79 missiles and drones out of 85 launched from Iran toward vital sites inside the Jordan during the second week of the war.
The figures were announced in a joint statement by the army and the Public Security Directorate.
The army said 85 missiles and drones were launched directly from Iran toward Jordanian territory, targeting vital locations. It said 79 missiles and drones were intercepted by the Royal Jordanian Air Force, while air defenses failed to stop five drones and one missile, which fell inside Jordanian territory.
The Public Security Directorate said 93 reports were received regarding falling debris from missiles and drones across most governorates over the past week.
Civil defense and police teams responded to the incidents and handled 9 injuries resulting from the falling debris. The injured were transferred to hospitals for treatment, and their condition was reported as moderate before they were discharged after receiving medical care.
