An Israeli-linked tanker has been seized by unidentified attackers off the coast of Yemen on Sunday, a private intelligence company said.

The attackers seized the tanker, Central Park, which was operated by the Zodiac Maritime company, in the Gulf of Aden, said the intelligence company Ambrey.

A US Defense Department official, who preferred to remain anonymous for security reasons, confirmed that the ship had been seized.

A statement by Zodiac Maritime called the attack as a “suspected piracy incident.”

The company said that there were 22 multinational crew members on board and the tanker was carrying a “cargo of phosphoric acid.”

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
