Israeli forces launched a rocket attack on Syria's southern province of Quneitra, Syrian regime media reported on Wednesday.

Israeli forces targeted the Hader town with rockets, according to the official SANA news agency. The attack caused only material damage, it added.

It is well known that military bases belonging to Iranian-backed foreign terrorist groups, as well as regime forces, are located in Quneitra, the capital Damascus, and its surrounding areas.

Israeli officials generally avoid making statements about attacks on Syrian territories.

Earlier, the Assad regime claimed that Israeli forces had attacked the vicinity of Damascus on April 15 and 27, the central Hama province on April 9, Quneitra on Feb. 23, and Damascus on Feb. 17.

Since 2011, when the Syrian civil war began, Israel has carried out sporadic attacks on Iranian-backed militias and Assad regime military bases in Syria.

This is Israel's 10th reported strike on Syria since the beginning of the year.
