The Israeli Air Force targeted more than 200 sites across western and central Iran over the past 24 hours, the Israeli military said Friday.

Dozens of fighter jets, guided by military intelligence, targeted ballistic missile launchers, air defense systems and weapons production facilities linked to what Israel called Iran’s “terrorist regime,” according to a military statement posted on the US social media platform X.

The military statement claimed that the attacks targeted infrastructure of the Iranian regime across Tehran, “aiming to reduce as much as possible the scale of missile fire toward Israeli territory.”

Regional escalation flared since Israel and the US launched a joint attack against Iran on Feb. 28 that has so far killed more than 1,300 victims, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and injured over 10,000, according to Iranian authorities.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets.
