Eleven people were killed and 45 others were wounded Tuesday in a suicide bomb attack that targeted a market in capital Baghdad, according to security sources.
The sources, who spoke to Anadolu Agency anonymously due to fears of reprisal, said the attack targeted the “4000 Market” in al-Shaab neighborhood.
Spokesman of Baghdad’s operations command Saad Maan said the attack was carried out by a woman.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.
The country has been dogged by rampant insecurity since mid-2014, when Daesh overran the northern city of Mosul and declared a self-styled “caliphate” in parts of Iraq and Syria.
