Explosions heard in Tehran as new strikes hit Iranian capital
Plumes of smoke rose following blasts in Tehran, says Anadolu reporter
TEHRAN, Iran
New airstrikes hit Iran’s capital Tehran on Monday, with successive blasts heard across the city.
An Anadolu correspondent reported that the explosions were concentrated in eastern and southern Tehran.
Plumes of smoke rose following the explosions, coinciding with the presence of warplanes flying overhead, he added.
The US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday, killing several top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In response, Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as regional countries which are home to US assets.
