ISTANBUL 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa discussed regional developments during a phone call Monday, according to the Egyptian Presidency.

The leaders focused on the situation in Gaza, with Sisi detailing Egypt’s efforts to address the crisis.

Both emphasized the urgency of an immediate cease-fire, the exchange of hostages and detainees and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid. They affirmed that stability in the Palestinian territories is key to restoring peace across the region.

The conversation also addressed developments in Lebanon and Syria, with both leaders expressing their commitment to preserving the unity, stability and territorial integrity of the two nations.

The two leaders warned of the dangers posed by the potential escalation of conflicts, emphasizing that such developments could "devastate" prospects for regional peace and security.
