Car bomb kills 18 in Syria’s Aleppo
Bomb was reportedly detonated near prison facility linked to opposition Ahrar al-Sham movement

ALEPPO, Syria
Eighteen people were killed, including children, when a car bomb rocked the Al-Sukkari neighborhood of Syria’s northern city of Aleppo on Monday.
A pro-opposition Civil Defense source told Anadolu Agency that the car bomb was detonated near a prison linked to the opposition Ahrar al-Sham movement.
The same source said that the death toll was expected to rise further because of the high number of serious injuries caused by the blast.
According to the source, five apartment blocks were completely destroyed, while another 15 were damaged.
Civil Defense teams, he added, were currently combing the rubble for possible survivors.
As of 15:07 GMT, no group had claimed responsibility for the bombing.
