Bahrain says it intercepted 102 Iranian missiles, 173 drones
Regional escalation has intensified since Israel and US launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28, killing over 1,200 people
ISTANBUL
Bahrain said late Monday that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed 102 missiles and 173 drones launched as “Iranian aggression” on the kingdom.
In a statement, the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force described the attack as a “sinful Iranian aggression” targeting the kingdom.
Regional escalation intensified since Israel and the US launched a joint attack on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,200 people, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to Iranian authorities.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets.
