At least seven people were killed and dozens injured in a spate of bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Friday.

A military patrol struck a roadside bomb in al-Tarmiya, north of Baghdad, killing two soldiers and injuring four others, police officer Dham al-Mahmud told Anadolu Agency.

Two Sunni militiamen were killed and three others injured when a device exploded at their vehicle in southern Baghdad.

Three people also lost their lives and 14 others were injured in separate bomb blasts in Baghdad, al-Mahmud said.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attacks, though Iraqi authorities often point the finger at the Daesh terrorist group, which seized vast swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
