Two Syrian soldiers were killed and a third was seriously injured on Wednesday when the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) attacked a military position near Aleppo in northern Syria, official media reported.

A guided missile fired by the SDF hit an army position near Tishrin Dam in eastern Aleppo, the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said, citing the Defense Ministry’s Media and Communications Directorate.

The ministry described the attack as a “blatant violation” of previous understandings and agreements between the government and the SDF.

“The SDF continues to reject all previous understandings and agreements, disregarding them by targeting army positions and killing its personnel,” the ministry said.

On Oct. 9, a Syrian soldier was killed and others were injured in an attack by the SDF in the same area.

The attack occurred three days after Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra and SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi agreed to an immediate ceasefire in northern and northeastern Syria following armed clashes in the Al-Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods in Aleppo.

The SDF is dominated by the terrorist group YPG, the Syrian branch of the terrorist PKK.

On March 10, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement to integrate the SDF into state institutions, stressing the country’s territorial integrity and rejecting any separatist designs. The group, however, has violated the agreement more than once.
