GAZA CITY, Palestine

At least 19 Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Monday in Israeli strikes that targeted several areas across the Gaza Strip, medical sources said.

Five Palestinians lost their lives and others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a shelter in Gaza City, one of the sources told Anadolu.

Witnesses said the strike targeted the Salah al-Din School in al-Daraj neighborhood, which serves as a shelter for displaced civilians.

In the northern Gaza Strip, one Palestinian was killed and others were injured in another Israeli airstrike targeting a gathering of civilians in Jabalia town, the source added.

Four more people were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a vehicle carrying civilians in central Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, another medical source said.

One more Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike north of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, he added.

In central Gaza, three Palestinians, including a young girl, were killed and others injured in a strike targeting civilians, a medical source at the Baptist Hospital said.

Late Sunday, five Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli strike that targeted a residential block in the Al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, witnesses said.

The Israeli army has killed more than 46,500 people, most of them women and children, in a genocidal war on Gaza since a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
