Building collapse in Jordan leaves 5 dead, 7 injured
Investigation launched to determine cause of incident

AMMAN, Jordan
At least five people were killed and seven others injured in a building collapse in Jordan's capital, authorities said late Tuesday.
The country's Public Security Directorate confirmed the casualties from the incident, which occurred in the Jabal al-Weibdeh neighborhood of Amman.
Rescue and evacuation teams of the civil defense authority are still working to check if there are people trapped under the wreckage, it added.
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh arrived at the site and ordered an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse.
According to the state-run Petra news agency, prosecutors have launched an investigation into the incident.
