Atletico Madrid's French forward Moussa Dembele have contracted the novel coronavirus, the Spanish La Liga side confirmed Thursday.

"Our striker @MDembele_10 has tested positive for COVID-19. He’s isolating at home, in compliance with the health authorities’ guidelines and the @LaLigaEN protocols," Atletico Madrid said on Twitter.

The 24-year-old joined Atletico Madrid on loan from France's Olympique Lyon in the winter transfer window.

Dembele's coronavirus report came after his Portuguese teammate Joao Felix contracted COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Before his move to Lyon, Dembele was a Celtic regular in 2016-2018, winning the 2017 and 2018 Scottish Premiership titles with the Glasgow club.
